Food for the Soul

So I am going to share a few things about myself…
-I get extremely cranky when I am hungry and/or sleep deprived.
-When I am stressed out, I bake because I know the result will be just what I wanted.
-I eat my feelings.
-When someone I love is heartbroken, all I want to do is make it better for them

This week I have been so sad for a friend of mine who is going through something unimaginable.  Being a “fixer,” all I could think about is what I could do to make her feel even the slightest bit better.  I decided that I would cook and deliver some meals for her freezer, to keep for when she needed it.  Food really can be good for the soul.  I instantly feel better when I’m in my kitchen putting all of my love and effort into cooking for someone I love…there really is nothing better.
I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday weekend.  I’m lucky to be able to spend it with some of my favorite ladies celebrating at a bachelorette party, visiting great friends, and spending a few extra days off with my wonderful husband.  I love taking the time to slow down and treasure the small things.

Be back on Tuesday evening to share some new great recipes, as well as the fun food-centric bachelorette activities from this weekend (like a cooking class and a food tour of Philly!

    Love this. Have so much fun, and get Capogiro gelato when you’re in the city. If your cooking class is at Cook, I’m insanely jealous. xo
