May Your Days Be Merry & Bright

holiday card On one hand 2013 has been the greatest year of my life.  I became a mom to a tiny little man that has totally redefined how I look at the world.  He has brought me more joy and given me more strength then I ever thought possible.  I have fallen more in love with my husband watching him be a father.  My son has brought my family closer together.  I am very thankful for my Connor; my miracle.

But 2013 has also been a very difficult year.  I have been figuring out how to balance all of the many hats I wear on a daily basis, which has proven to be quite a challenge.  My family has endured heartache.  Those I love have suffered through sickness, cancer treatments, surgeries and even a tragic death.  I have found myself struggling to keep my head above water and expecting more from myself than reasonable.  I have learned that it is OK to be a mess, that my life doesn’t always have to be “so together” and that I don’t have to fix everything for everyone.  Sometimes you aren’t happy, and pretending to be is just silly.

I wish all of you out there a wonderful holiday season.  I hope it is full of love, joy and laughter and that the year to come is even better than the last.  Thank you for sticking with me and stopping by to check out what I’m cooking.  I am excited for the year ahead!  Much love…
