So This Is the New Year…

…and I don’t feel any different.

Did you like that Death Cab for Cutie song quote?  I did.

Welcome 2012!  I know this is going to be an awesome year; I can just feel it in my bones.  It’s also an even year, which makes me feel more zen already…I’m weird I know.

New Year’s Eve was really fantastic, despite my absolute lack of planning.  In my perfect world, we were supposed to be in our new house and host a lovely soiree to ring in the new year.  So when I realized that wasn’t happening, I think I just boycotted the holiday.  We made a game time decision to go out of town and visit some wonderful friends of ours, who we unfortunately don’t get to see as often as we’d like now that we moved to Pittsburgh.  It was laid back, fun, delicious (more on that later) and sparkly:

bling-tastic manicures to add some sparkle

So, to be honest, I am just not organized or motivated enough to do my top 10 favorite posts of 2011 for you. Also, I feel like every blog I read is doing it, and I don’t want to be trite.  So let’s pretend like anyone really cares about what my new years resolutions are, and I’ll share those.  I’m not really keen on resolutions, because I feel like I always give up after a month. But I’m going to keep them simple this year.  And hopefully now that I will be publishing them here, I will be held more accountable!  So here goes…

1.  That the hubby and I become first-time homebuyers and start the DIY extravaganza that home ownership will bring.
2.  Continue to run and eat well so that 2012 can be my healthiest year ever.
3.  Increase my photography skills, especially in the food department.
4.  Be an all around better blogger – plan more effectively, network more with fellow bloggers and just have more fun with it!

So there ya have it…another year has flown by…can’t wait to see what this new year brings!  Wishing all my readers a happy and healthy 2012!
