Pardon my absence. Needless to say, I’ve been neglecting the blog for the past week. Here’s a snippet of what I’ve been up to:
Remember when I told you about my cousin’s wedding shower? Well, I’ve had the honor of making and assembling her wedding invitations. It’s been really fun and I’m so excited with how they turned out!
Oh, and our kitchen currently looks like this:
We are giving our kitchen a mini-makeover involving backsplash tile and paint. I am SUPER excited!
So today I’m taking a quick break from everything else to share one of my favorite side dishes. I think they are the best green beans. They are simple and yummy and come together in a flash. Perfect for a summer meal.
you will need:
1 lb. green beans, ends trimmed
3 tablespoons butter
salt & pepper to taste
3 tablespoons pine nuts or slivered almonds (optional)
Set a pot of water over medium-high heat. While the water is heating, rinse and trim the beans. Once water is simmering, set steamer over top and steam green beans for about 7 to 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt butter in a large saucepan. Once beans are steamed, toss directly into the saucepan. Toss with butter, season with salt and pepper and toss in nuts. Serve warm or room temperature.
